CAMBRIDGE, Ont., Oct. 28, 2010 – A recent survey supported by Transitions Optical, Inc. reveals that many ethnic minority groups in Canada may not be taking preventative steps to protect their vision, despite their higher risks for several eye health issues. The survey confirmed low awareness levels among all demographics of the need to protect their eyes from ultraviolet (UV) radiation, and revealed that most respondents (61 percent) had not seen an eye doctor within the past year, with numbers significantly lower among the African-Canadian population.
