Ethnic minorities in Canada are quickly becoming the majority. In fact, by 2031, as many as 32 percent of Canadians could belong to a visible minority group. This represents an undeniable opportunity for you to grow your business and increase patient satisfaction.
However – each demographic group has unique eye health and communication needs that may impact the level of care they receive. As your patient base becomes increasingly culturally diverse, you and your staff will need to address these issues.
In May 2010, Transitions Optical held a multicultural roundtable event to identify the needs of emerging populations in Canada. The resulting discussions will serve as a foundation for the development of new education and tools to support you in your efforts to better serve your culturally diverse patients. We’re also reaching out to Chinese-speaking consumers directly through Mandarin television advertising on OMNI TV – encouraging them to visit their eyecare professionals for more information about sight-enhancing, adaptive Transitions® lenses.
